Saints Secure Second Straight Scoreless Stalemate

LOUDONVILLE, NY – Siena Women’s Soccer played to its second straight scoreless draw and third this season with a 0-0 battle against a Canisius squad which tallied its third consecutive nil-nil decision. Angela Fini posted her second straight six-save clean sheet for the Saints.
 
Canisius (3-3-6, 1-1-3) held a 17-9 advantage in shots and a 6-4 margin in corners. Following an evenly played first half, the Golden Griffins held a 10-2 shot total and 4-1 advantage in corners in the final stanza. But Fini made four of her six saves in the second half to preserve the tie.
 
Cora Keohane paced the offense, putting two of her four shots on target for Siena (1-7-4, 0-2-2) which is now unbeaten in 12 of its last 13 against Canisius (10-1-2) including seven straight in Loudonville (5-0-2).
 
Jessica Jones made four saves to record the Golden Griffins’ fifth shutout this season, although Canisius was also blanked for the sixth time in 12 matches. With the tie, the Golden Griffins remain winless over their last 25 road tilts (0-18-7).
 
The Saints conclude their big two-match home week Saturday when they host MAAC rival Marist at 1 p.m.
