Women’s Basketball Freshman Earns League’s First Honor of the Season

LOUDONVILLE, NY – With a solid opening night win to highlight the week for the Siena Women’s Basketball program, freshman Elisa Mevius added to the excitement as she was named the first MAAC Rookie of the Week this season.
 
Mevius helped the Saints to a 1-1 week averaging 9.5 points, 4.5 rebound, 2.0 assists, and 2.0 steals. She helped lead the Saints with a 16-point effort in their opening night win over New Hampshire. As point guard for the Saints, Mevius also only averaged 2.0 turnovers per game as well.
 
Siena returns to the floor this week, starting on Wednesday, Nov. 16 when they square off against the St. Bonaventure Bonnies at 5 p.m. at MVP Arena. The game will be the front end of a doubleheader with the Siena Men’s Basketball team, who faces Army West Point at 7 p.m.
